Outpatient Coder II, HB Coding

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +6 more states.

📋 Description

• Applies technical coding knowledge to accurately assign ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes for outpatient visit types.

• Conducts a comprehensive review of medical records, utilizing all available documentation to code the relevant diagnoses and procedures.

• Analyzes health record documentation by leveraging knowledge of anatomy, physiology, clinical disease processes, pharmacology, and medical terminology to accurately report diagnoses and/or procedures.

• Initiates necessary queries to physicians for clarification of documentation when needed.

• Adheres to Coding Clinic for HCPCs, CPT Assistant, and interprets coding conventions and instructional notes to ensure accurate selection of diagnoses and procedures with at least 95% accuracy.

• Offers technical expertise to assess system-related changes and is involved in testing software modifications.

• 3-4 years of coding experience in an acute healthcare environment.

• Possession of RHIT, RHIA, or CCS credentials.
