Outpatient Coder – Facility Clinics

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Accountable for examining medical records and accurately assigning CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM codes, along with the appropriate modifiers for outpatient services.

• Facilitates compliant coding and maintains consistent performance across various types of outpatient encounters.

• Verifies that documentation substantiates coded services, identifying and escalating any discrepancies or gaps.

• Ensures adherence to CMS, payer-specific regulations, and official coding guidelines, including NCCI edits.

• Upholds established quality metrics (e.g., maintaining a coding accuracy of 95% or higher) and achieves productivity standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Credentials: Active CPC, CCS, RHIA, or RHIT certification.

• Experience: A minimum of 3 years of outpatient coding experience across various outpatient service types.

• Skills & Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM codes, modifiers, and NCCI edits.

• Familiarity with CMS guidelines and outpatient workflows.
