Outpatient Coder

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Accountable for examining medical records and assigning precise CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM codes, along with appropriate modifiers for outpatient services.

• Facilitate compliant coding practices and ensure consistent performance across various outpatient encounter types.

• Analyze medical records and allocate accurate CPT/HCPCS, ICD-10-CM codes, and modifiers.

• Verify that documentation supports the coded services and identify or escalate any discrepancies or gaps.

• Ensure adherence to CMS, payer-specific regulations, and official coding guidelines (including NCCI edits).

• Uphold established quality metrics (e.g., ≥95% coding accuracy) and fulfill productivity standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Credentials: CPC, CCS, RHIA, or RHIT (currently active).

• Experience: A minimum of 3+ years of outpatient coding experience across various outpatient service categories.

• Skills & Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM, modifiers, and NCCI edits.

• Familiarity with CMS guidelines and outpatient workflows.
