
Outpatient Ancillary Coding Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.
• Evaluate clinical documentation and accurately assign codes utilizing ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT systems.
• Extract essential data elements for reporting to CMS, HSCRC, and various regulatory bodies.
• Code outpatient and recurring accounts across various service lines, including JMC-JMC/R, BHS, and Outpatient Rehab.
• Ensure that coding quality meets the standards for internal and external reporting, billing, and analytics.
• A coding certification is required for consideration: CCA, CPC, or CPC-H.
• An Associate degree from an AHIMA-approved program with RHIT credentials, or a CCA credential (AHIMA), or a CPC/CPC-H credential (AAPC).
• At least 1 year of experience in hospital coding, including outpatient Ancillary records.
• Successful completion of an advanced hospital coding assessment.
• In-depth knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding systems.
• Familiarity with federal coding guidelines, UHDDS, HSCRC reporting standards, and ethical coding practices.
• Proficient in various software applications and coding platforms.
