Outage Manager

📋 Description

• Accountable for the preparation, planning, leadership, execution, and closure of complex planned or emergent outage events for steam turbines and generator outages.

• Promote consistent outage planning and execution while fostering the adoption of best practices and lessons learned.

• Assist the CSM in all aspects of outage event preparation and execution (Planned/Emergent/Upgrade) from inception to conclusion, encompassing outage schedule creation, TFA/craft labor/tooling/cost planning, and customer management through pre/post outage meetings, mobilization planning, JCE execution, and event closure.

• Lead onsite execution as the site lead with large teams during designated outages, ensuring that SQDC requirements are fulfilled.

• Oversee job cost tracking and productivity while managing execution risk and FMEA.

• Enhance on-time delivery, outage cost, and productivity by implementing improvements, accurately maintaining tracking files, and controlling man-hour costs and pacing.

• Aid in the development of project quotations that include work scope, site condition assessments, and preliminary safety and risk analyses to identify potential issues or obstacles, minimizing cost impacts for site execution.

• Support the customer operations team during turbine, generator, and auxiliary system shut-down, start-up, running, and performance testing as necessary.

• Ensure that proper execution documentation is prepared, utilized, reviewed, stored, and delivered.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in the power generation industry; OR 8+ years of relevant experience with demonstrated success and knowledge in steam turbine or generator maintenance, alongside 3+ years of specialized experience in gas/steam turbine generator and auxiliary system outage planning and execution.

• Strong project management and planning capabilities, with a preference for experience using the Primavera scheduling tool.

• Proficient in PC applications and web tools, including advanced skills in Excel.

• Capable of effectively interfacing with all organizational levels and external clients.

• Proven verbal and written communication skills, along with strong influencing abilities.

• Extensive technical and maintenance knowledge of gas/steam turbines and generators.

• A strong team leader in dynamic, energetic, and complex customer site environments.

• Ability to perform well under high pressure and time constraints, demonstrating commitment and process orientation.

• Skilled in managing multiple projects simultaneously and effectively collaborating in cross-functional teams.

• Proficient in influencing stakeholders to meet customer and business requirements.

• Graduate of the GE/GEV Field Engineering Program (FEP).
