OSP Engineer III

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Oversee the comprehensive engineering of intricate outside plant programs, guiding them from initial routing and feasibility studies to permit approvals, construction initiation, and project closeout.

• Establish the technical framework for both fiber and copper aerial and underground installations, including pole lines, direct-buried systems, and conduit setups.

• Ensure that all designs comply with NESC and client specifications while maintaining cost and schedule integrity.

• Mentor junior engineers, facilitate cross-functional collaboration, and enhance quality through thorough QA/QC processes, field validations, and data-driven enhancements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in OSP Engineering: Demonstrated ability to lead complex, multi-disciplinary OSP projects from design through to permit acquisition, construction readiness, and completion.

• Design Expertise: Proficient in work order engineering (including road relocations), loss budgets, splicing plans, constructability assessments, and value engineering techniques.

• Field Experience & Standards Knowledge: Practical experience with field measurements; comprehensive understanding of NESC and client/industry OSP standards.

• Permitting, ROW, and Joint Use Proficiency: Successful history of securing permits and ROW/easements; managing pole attachment, loading, and make-ready coordination.

• Financial and QA Discipline: Experience in developing and monitoring job budgets while executing structured QA/QC and conducting site inspections.

• Tools and Systems Competence: Skilled in using PC applications and record/CAD systems; adept with measuring wheels, height sticks, pull finders, and laptops in field settings.
