OSP Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Louisiana.

📋 Description

• Oversee OSP engineering activities for road relocation and highway expansion projects, ensuring adherence to local, state, and federal regulations.

• Collaborate with DOT, municipalities, utility companies, and contractors to synchronize relocation strategies with road construction timelines.

• Conduct field surveys, site inspections, and impact evaluations on aerial, buried, and underground utilities.

• Create engineering designs, construction documentation, and relocation strategies for fiber/copper cabling, pole relocations, conduit modifications, and associated infrastructure.

• Generate cost estimates, lists of materials, and project schedules.

• Act as the main engineering liaison throughout the planning, permitting, and construction stages.

• Keep precise records including as-builts, CAD drawings, GIS updates, and permit documentation.

• Work collaboratively with Construction, Planning, and Permitting departments.

• Ensure adherence to RUS, NESC, and company design guidelines.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).

• 3–5+ years of experience in OSP Engineering, preferably with roadway relocation or utility coordination projects.

• In-depth knowledge of OSP design (both aerial and underground), construction practices, and permitting processes.

• Experience collaborating with state DOTs, municipalities, and third-party contractors.

• Proficient in AutoCAD, GIS, Microsoft Office, and OSP design applications.

• Strong abilities in project management, problem-solving, and communication.

• Capable of working independently in field settings while managing various priorities.

• Adaptable and responsive to evolving project requirements.

• Excellent listening skills with the capacity to follow instructions and implement feedback effectively.
