OSINT Trainer and Investigator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Serve as a professional, reliable, and trustworthy liaison between the project and CSO partner organizations.

• Engage in regular communication and coordination meetings with CSOs.

• Assist in the development and execution of the capacity-building and external-engagement strategy.

• Utilize open-source investigation and analytical methods to gather, compile, verify, and analyze open-source data.

• Document sourced information in project databases using predefined information fields.

• Create tailored training materials and conduct assessments before and after training sessions.

• Supervise or lead collaborative open-source research projects with external CSO partners.

• Mentor CSOs, civil society representatives, and members of the Myanmar Witness team on OSINT, visualization, digital security, vicarious trauma mitigation, and collaborative investigations.

• Provide in-person training outside of Myanmar and remote training in English.

• Evaluate training effectiveness, record feedback, and contribute to internal assessments.

• Collaborate closely with other trainers and investigators.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated success in OSINT-driven investigations.

• Proficient in using geolocation and chronolocation techniques.

• Experience in social media monitoring.

• Background in delivering OSINT training and mentorship, both in-person and remotely.

• Capability to provide training on topics ranging from beginner to intermediate/advanced levels.

• Willingness and capability to travel for capacity-building and in-person training sessions.

• Proficient in English.

• Highly desirable: previous OSINT research experience related to Myanmar and/or Southeast Asia.

• Highly desirable: experience in supporting external stakeholders, including CSOs, with digital investigations.
