Oshiwambo/English OPI/VRI Interpretation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Namibia.

📋 Description

• Professionally respond to calls while adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be prepared to take notes during calls.

• Understand the specific vocabulary relevant to the healthcare and medical fields.

• Accurately and completely convey all messages without adding, omitting, or substituting information.

• Deliver the highest standard of customer service throughout the interpreting process.

• Facilitate effective communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients by providing precise and thorough interpretation of messages.

• Participate in internal professional training sessions.

• Show a strong willingness to obtain new professional certifications.

• Communicate and report regularly to your team leader.

• Adhere to dress code standards for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language "Oshiwambo".

• At least 1 year of experience in telephone interpretation with a reputable interpretation company.

• Strong understanding of medical terminology.

• Familiarity with legal terminology is advantageous.

• Possession of international certifications in the healthcare sector is beneficial (such as PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• Elevated emotional intelligence and cultural sensitivity.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills.
