Oshiwambo/English OPI, VRI Interpretation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Angola.

📋 Description

• Respond to calls in a professional manner, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be ready to take notes during a call.

• Familiarize yourself with the specific vocabulary relevant to the industry in which the interpreter operates, particularly in healthcare and medical fields.

• Convey all messages accurately and comprehensively, without adding, omitting, or substituting any content.

• Deliver the highest standard of customer service during interpretation sessions.

• Enable effective communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and Clients by providing accurate and complete interpretation of messages.

• Adhere to established standards of practice.

• Engage in internal professional training.

• Demonstrate eagerness to obtain new professional certifications.

• Maintain communication and report to your team leader.

• Follow dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (English) and a Native speaker of the target language "Oshiwambo".

• At least 1 year of experience in telephone interpretation with a reputable interpretation company.

• Strong knowledge of medical terminology.

• Familiarity with legal terminology is advantageous.

• International certifications in the healthcare sector are a plus (such as PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• A high school diploma in your native language.

• High emotional intelligence and an appreciation for diverse cultures.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills.
