Oromo Remote Interpretation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ethiopia.

📋 Description

• Respond to calls in a professional manner, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be prepared to take notes during calls.

• Be knowledgeable about the specific vocabulary related to the industry in which the interpreter operates, particularly in healthcare and medicine.

• Accurately and completely convey all messages without adding, omitting, or altering any content.

• Deliver the highest standard of customer service throughout the interpreting process.

• Facilitate communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients by providing precise and thorough interpretations.

• Implement established standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training programs.

• Show enthusiasm for obtaining new professional certifications.

• Communicate and report effectively to your team leader.

• Adhere to dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language "Oromo".

• A minimum of 1 year of telephone interpretation experience with a reputable interpretation company.

• Solid understanding of medical terminology.

• Familiarity with legal terminology is an advantage.

• International certifications in the healthcare sector are beneficial (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• Possess high emotional intelligence and an appreciation for diverse cultures.

• Demonstrate strong communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention abilities.
