Oromo OPI/VRI Interpretation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ethiopia.

📋 Description

• Respond to calls in a professional manner, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be prepared to take notes during calls.

• Familiarity with the specific vocabulary relevant to the healthcare and medical industries is essential.

• Accurately and completely convey all messages without adding, omitting, or altering any information.

• Deliver exceptional customer service throughout the interpreting process.

• Facilitate effective communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients by providing precise and complete interpretation of messages.

• Uphold established standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training sessions.

• Demonstrate a willingness to pursue new professional certifications.

• Communicate and report to your team leader regularly.

• Adhere to dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language "Oromo."

• At least 1 year of telephone interpretation experience with a reputable interpretation company.

• Strong knowledge of medical terminology.

• Familiarity with legal terminology is an advantage.

• International certifications in the healthcare field are beneficial (PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• High emotional intelligence and an appreciation for diverse cultures.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention abilities.
