This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design and spearhead intricate, multi-faceted organizing strategies in collaboration with ACLU affiliates.
• Support research, narrative collection, and analysis to advance the organization’s communication, policy, and legal objectives.
• Establish organizing goals, plans, strategies, tactics, and budgets aimed at achieving the organization’s specific political and policy outcomes.
• Implement essential organizing tactics in conjunction with ACLU affiliates, such as phone banking, text banking, rallies, marches, story gathering, and social media engagement.
• Partner with policy advisors and campaign strategists to formulate and integrate organizing plans into comprehensive campaign strategies.
• Conduct on-the-ground organizing meetings and events in key jurisdictions alongside ACLU affiliates.
• Monitor program progress towards goals and metrics through standardized reporting methods.
• Create compelling call and text scripts for priority campaigns.
• Manage volunteer recruitment, training, retention, and mobilization across various platforms.
• Design and implement innovative volunteer team structures and systems.
• Establish and track volunteer team goals and activities.
• Utilize organizing tools effectively to enhance volunteer engagement.
• Participate in special projects and other assigned duties.
• Exhibit adaptability in shifting priorities according to the evolving external environment.
• This role necessitates flexibility in work schedule and location, including the capacity to travel nationally as programming requires and work during non-traditional hours.
• Extensive experience in political, electoral, advocacy, and/or issue campaigns in roles such as campaign manager, political director, field director, or similar positions.
• Demonstrated success in grassroots organizing, volunteer recruitment and management, and issue advocacy.
• Exceptional skills in stakeholder engagement and communication.
• Experience with earned media strategies.
• Background in working within and navigating coalition environments.
• Ability to evaluate needs and suggest resource allocation.
• Proficiency in analyzing complex concepts and delivering clear recommendations.
• Strong independent work ethic coupled with teamwork collaboration skills.
• Outstanding analytical, writing, and organizational capabilities.
