This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Review, code, and process accounts payable and receivable transactions, ensuring accurate documentation and timely payments.

• Reconcile accounts, prepare journal entries, and confirm that transactions are recorded in the appropriate period and in accordance with policy.

• Enter donations, issue charitable receipts, and accurately allocate deposits in the general ledger.

• Maintain vendor records, address inquiries, follow up on outstanding transactions, and facilitate vendor invoice processing.

• Monitor compliance with tax coding, payment terms, and expenditure policy, ensuring the secure handling of undistributed cheques/instruments.

• Provide financial and processing support to smaller ministry units, including managing payables, receivables, and advising on procedures.

• Regularly communicate with internal and external clients, offering solutions and ensuring that financial transactions adhere to standards.

• Prepare audit schedules, assist with external reporting, and help in the preparation of necessary financial documents.

• Document processes, develop business requirements, and offer recommendations for operational improvements.

• Assist ministry unit leaders and stakeholders in understanding financial procedures and the implications of financial decisions.


⛳️ Requirements

• Completion of a university degree in accounting.

• Two to less than three years of relevant experience in an accounting/finance setting.

• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving and analytical skills, judgment, and focus in completing complex reconciliations and preparing intricate journal entries.

• A solid sense of integrity and confidentiality, along with professional ethics and a balanced approach to fairness and flexibility.
