Open Systems Solutions Architect – Defense, MOSA

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Hawaii.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement a modular, distributed system architecture within the national defense portfolio.

• Oversee architectural execution for active defense programs from the planning stage to delivery.

• Collaborate directly with mission partners, program offices, and industry stakeholders.

• Convert mission requirements into actionable system and integration strategies.

• Propel progress in uncertain environments and guarantee delivery outcomes beyond mere compliance.

• Establish modular system architectures, interface methodologies, and integration strategies.

• Assess vendor solutions and technical assertions with credibility and sound judgment.

• Transform open architecture principles (MOSA and related frameworks) into effective implementation plans.

• Record and document architectural approaches, frameworks, and lessons learned.

• Contribute to internal platform development, including initiatives related to distributed manufacturing.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience with DoD or defense-related systems or programs.

• Background in systems architecture, systems engineering, or systems integration.

• Proven ability to manage and deliver complex workstreams in uncertain environments.

• Experience collaborating across technical teams, program leadership, and external stakeholders.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.

• Preferred experience with open architecture or modular systems (MOSA, OSA, FACE, SOSA, etc.).

• Familiarity with DoD acquisition processes or program office environments is preferred.

• Preferred experience in supporting logistics, sustainment, or distributed systems.

• Exposure to supply chain integration or manufacturing systems is preferred.
