Online Visiting Professor, Data Analytics

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Instruct undergraduate and graduate courses in Data Analytics following the standards set by DeVry University.

• Foster student learning through instruction that emphasizes practical applications.

• Create and finalize approved course syllabi and lesson plans.

• Organize, prepare, modify, and refresh course materials as needed.

• Utilize websites, email, online discussions, and course-related software to ensure course accessibility.

• Communicate effectively and clearly to engage students and enhance their learning experience.

• Publish course objectives, assignment schedules, examination dates, and evaluation criteria.

• Ensure examination content aligns with the terminal objectives of the course.

• Prepare and assess exams consistently and equitably, providing timely feedback to students.

• Incorporate responsible AI technologies to improve teaching and learning outcomes.

• Identify, assess, and manage appropriate and inappropriate use of AI tools by students.

• Fulfill additional assigned responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Doctorate in Data Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related discipline.

• A minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in data analytics, statistics, data science, quantitative analysis, or a related computational field.

• Unofficial graduate-level transcripts must be submitted with the application.

• Degree must be from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, or possess equivalent international accreditation.

• 3–5 years of relevant professional experience in data analytics, data science, business intelligence, statistical analysis, or data-driven decision-making.

• Proficiency with data analysis tools and programming environments, including statistical software, data visualization platforms, database technologies, and analytics programming languages.

• Possession of industry-recognized certifications or professional credentials pertinent to data analytics, data science, business intelligence, or statistical analysis.

• Strong understanding of data analytics concepts and methodologies.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex quantitative concepts to diverse learners.

• Knowledge of ethical and responsible data practices, including data governance, privacy, bias awareness, and appropriate data usage.

• Additional state licensing, institutional policies, or accreditation requirements may be applicable.

• Commitment to continuous professional development in instructional technology, digital literacy, and responsible AI practices.

• Preferred qualifications include industry certifications; familiarity with data management and analytics ecosystems; understanding of analytics frameworks; knowledge of data governance and lifecycle management; experience with accreditation processes; engagement with professional analytics/statistics/data science organizations; and 2–5 years of teaching experience in a post-secondary setting using laboratories, real-world datasets, and analytics platforms.
