Online Visiting Professor – Cybersecurity

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Develops and provides students with an authorized DeVry University syllabus that adheres to a format established by the local campus, encompassing the terminal course objectives.

• Organizes, prepares, and consistently revises and updates all course materials.

• Utilizes suitable technological options for online platforms and course-related software, including websites, email, and online discussions to facilitate course preparation and accessibility for students.

• Exemplifies effective oral and written communication that engages students, enhances clarity, and promotes improved learning outcomes.

• Establishes clear course expectations by publishing terminal course objectives, assignment/examination dates, and the weight distribution of various evaluation categories.

• Ensures that the content and complexity of material presented in exams align with the course terminal objectives.

• Demonstrates consistency and fairness in exam preparation and grading, providing timely feedback to students.

• Embraces and incorporates the responsible use of AI technologies in the classroom to improve teaching and learning results.

• Shows the ability to identify, assess, and manage appropriate and inappropriate student use of AI tools in academic assignments.

• Performs additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A doctorate in Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a closely related field is required, with a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in cybersecurity, information assurance, network security, digital forensics, or related computing disciplines.

• Applicants must submit unofficial graduate-level transcripts with their application.

• Degrees must be conferred by an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, or by an international institution deemed to hold equivalent accreditation.

• Three to five years of practical professional experience in cybersecurity, information security, security operations, threat analysis, or digital risk management.

• Proven experience with cybersecurity technologies and practices, including network security, system hardening, vulnerability management, incident response, and security monitoring.

• Industry-recognized certifications or professional credentials pertinent to cybersecurity, information assurance, or information security operations.

• Strong subject matter expertise in cybersecurity principles and defensive security practices, complemented by effective communication skills and the ability to convey complex security concepts to a diverse audience.

• Knowledge of cyber risk management, regulatory and compliance issues, ethical security practices, and responsible use of security technologies.

• Faculty must demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development in instructional technology, digital literacy, and responsible AI practices.
