Online Notary Public

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Perform notarization of client documents

• Authenticate significant documents remotely

• Clarify the notarization procedure and deliver a professional, responsive customer service experience

• Examine and confirm the identity of signers in accordance with the requirements of the commissioning state

• Ensure the signer comprehends the document and is signing voluntarily

• Assess documents for completeness and accurate certificate wording

• Execute acknowledgement and jurat notarial acts

• Document each notarization in a digital notary journal as mandated by state law

• Validate the authenticity of signatures on crucial legal documents

• Act as a witness for other notaries' sessions as needed and when available

• Test platform functionalities and report bugs and suggestions for improvement to the notary team

• Manage client interactions through the internal account portal

• Uphold certification as required by the state

• Provide assistance with testing and quality assurance as necessary

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 months of experience in a Remote Online Notary Public position handling confidential and private client documents

• Valid Electronic Notary Public certification in Virginia

• Commissioned Notary Public in Virginia

• Strong attention to detail

• Proficient verbal and written communication skills

• Technically proficient, with the capability to learn internal tools and new software

• Reliable attendance and punctuality

• Well-established interpersonal and organizational abilities

• Capacity to resolve standard document issues with minimal guidance

• Minimum $25,000 error and omission insurance coverage (E&O)

• Access to a working desktop computer or laptop, webcam, microphone, and high-speed internet

• Availability during daytime weekdays, mainly from 1:00–6:00 p.m.; weekend availability may also be appropriate

• Capability to work during coverage periods of 1:00–6:00 p.m. EST on weekdays and 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. EST on weekends
