Online ESL Teacher, Japanese Adult Students

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Conduct individual conversational and assessment-focused English lessons for adult students from Japan.

• Teach 25-minute sessions that cater to all levels of CEFR proficiency, ranging from complete beginners to advanced learners.

• Customize lessons to fit the unique levels and requirements of each student.

• Send a brief encouraging message following each class.

• Utilize the client's internal platform integrated with Zoom and provided teaching materials.

• Substitute for absent teachers when preferred.

• Stay informed about scheduled shifts and adjust to any changes in the timetable.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be based in the Philippines.

• At least a 3-year National Diploma as the minimum educational qualification.

• Completion of an accredited 120-hour TEFL certificate or its equivalent.

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in ESL teaching.

• A demo lesson is required as part of the application procedure.

• Capable of teaching English at all CEFR levels, from complete beginners to advanced students.

• Energetic, student-centric, and comfortable with online instruction.

• Aware of scheduling and responsive; accountable for knowing assigned shifts and adapting to changes.

• Possess clear and effective communication skills.

• Demonstrate patience and empathy toward learners of all levels.

• Maintain a positive demeanor and professional presence.

• Exhibit strong time management and organizational abilities.

• Flexible in a dynamic, student-driven setting.

• Have a problem-solving approach.

• Computer specifications: minimum 2GHz / 4 CPU processor and 8GB RAM.

• A fibre internet connection with a LAN cable and minimum upload and download speeds of 20 Mbps.

• Backup power source is necessary for power outages or load shedding.

• Required equipment includes a webcam and noise-cancelling headset.

• A quiet, private, and well-lit teaching environment with a neutral background is essential.
