This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Plan and supervise school counseling services.
• Administer therapy for IEP and 504 students in accordance with their counseling plans.
• Administer therapy for general education students as per their counseling plans.
• Deliver ongoing direct and group school-based counseling to general education students.
• Address emergency situations with limited-scope direct and group crisis counseling.
• Be available on an on-call basis to respond to active suicidal or homicidal ideation, threats, and acute psychosis.
• Collaborate with families, academy administration, and staff to create safety plans.
• Evaluate threats and risks to students and others.
• Provide referral information for local and community agencies.
• Deliver direct, group, and consultative counseling services to students with IEPs.
• Support general education staff with behavioral accommodations and behavior plans.
• Create counseling-session schedules for assigned schools.
• Communicate and work together with parents, staff, and administrators regarding student planning and progress.
• Participate in IEP and special education evaluation meetings.
• Complete necessary special education paperwork and quarterly progress reports.
• Master's degree in counseling psychology, clinical psychology, educational psychology, school psychology, social work, or marriage and family therapy, or equivalent qualifications.
• Preferred experience in crisis counseling, safety/threat assessment, and school-based counseling.
• Specialized training and experience with students with disabilities is desirable.
• Certification as LMSW, LCSW, MFT, LPC, or equivalent credentials.
• Successful completion of a criminal history background check.
• Fingerprint clearance in compliance with state regulations.
• Capability to provide direct, group, crisis, and school-based counseling.
• Ability to assess threats and risks to oneself and others.
• Ability to support students with IEPs and implement behavioral accommodations.
• Competence to complete special education paperwork and quarterly progress reports.
• Willingness to travel locally for training and professional development when necessary.
• Capability to perform necessary physical tasks, including standing, sitting, repetitive hand and body movements, bending, squatting, and reaching.
• Ability to lift or position equipment weighing up to approximately 15 pounds.
