Online Computer Science Tutor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Experienced in tutoring using the Socratic method.

• Passionate about collaborating with students to enhance their critical thinking abilities.

• Facilitate online sessions through Upswing's virtual classroom, which includes video, audio, chatbox, and a whiteboard feature.

• Availability and scheduling will be determined by student demand.

• Onboarding will occur within 2-5 business days following your hire date.

⛳️ Requirements

• Expertise in the subject matter or advanced knowledge acquired through an undergraduate degree, graduate degree, or relevant professional experience in computer science.

• Must have access to dependable high-speed Internet, a quiet and distraction-free environment for conducting tutorials, and a reliable laptop or desktop equipped with camera and microphone capabilities.

• Achieved excellent academic performance during undergraduate or graduate studies.

• Enjoy teaching and assisting individuals through challenges, with a strong desire to help others achieve their objectives.

• Available to tutor for a minimum of 2-5 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters.

• A background in teaching methods, instructional techniques, or experience in tutoring at the college level, such as in a math or learning lab or writing center, is highly desirable.

• Promptly respond to session requests.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are required.
