Oncology Pathology Assistant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Offer specialized knowledge to the Signatera team by evaluating clinical pathology reports and clinical notes.

• Support medical and customer service teams in interpreting oncology pathology reports and selecting the best specimens for MRD testing.

• Maintain clinical history, diagnoses, progress notes, and specimen data within the Signatera sample database.

• Develop strategies for data retrieval and classification from the Signatera sample database and other relevant databases.

• Organize diagnostic information in accordance with established WHO guidelines.

• Act as the pathology-report expert for the Laboratory Director, Genetic Counseling, Customer Experience, Sales, and Clinical Trial teams.

• Recognize potentially inadequate sample collection time points or fixative conditions and inform the Laboratory Director.

• Assist in identifying and securing additional optimal samples.

• Provide precise and organized data transfer assistance to the Clinical Trial team.

• Carry out other responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree or higher with certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or an equivalent board is required.

• At least 10 years of experience in anatomic pathology.

• In-depth knowledge of solid tumor pathology.

• Proficient in accurately interpreting and communicating information in anatomic pathology reports for various solid tumors, including lung, colon, and breast cancer.

• Capable of identifying diagnostic samples that will guarantee successful testing.

• Effective communication skills with team members and referring pathology laboratories.

• Ability to foster relationships with referring pathology laboratories.

• Detail-oriented approach.

• Capacity to consider the significance of clinical information and work autonomously.
