Oncology Data Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Abstract newly diagnosed cancer cases.

• Assist in identifying cases.

• Conduct quality control procedures on data.

• Address data inquiries.

• Maintain records in the database.

• Extract relevant data.

• Submit reports to state and/or central registries.

⛳️ Requirements

• Completion of a college-level curriculum in Cancer Data Management, or equivalent education/experience.

• National Oncology Data Specialist certification from the National Cancer Registrars Association required upon hire.

• An Associate's Degree is preferred.

• Coursework in Anatomy and Physiology or ongoing completion of these courses is preferred.

• Prior experience in abstracting newly diagnosed cancer cases is preferred.

• Experience in an ACoS approved Cancer Registry is preferred.

• Familiarity with Cancer Registry software, such as ONCOLog, is preferred.
