This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Review disease indices, pathology reports, radiology reports, and other clinical documents to identify reportable cancer cases for case finding.
• Conduct primary data abstraction for oncology measures and registries.
• Ensure high levels of abstraction accuracy and compliance with organizational quality standards as well as oncology regulatory standards.
• Oversee the long-term follow-up process for data collection and input concerning cancer registry patients.
• Gather data for special studies related to the National Cancer Database as necessary.
• Comply with the requirements of the Oncology Abstraction Training Program.
• Oncology Data Specialist credential from the National Cancer Registrars Association (NCRA) must be obtained within 36 months (3 years) from the date of hire or job transfer.
• Preference for registrars specializing in Tumors.
• High School diploma or equivalent with at least 2 years of cumulative experience required.
• Current enrollment in or successful completion of a NCRA-Accredited Certificate Program, or an Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree, or 4 years of relevant cumulative job-specific experience is required.
