Oncology Data Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Review disease indices, pathology reports, radiology reports, and various clinical documents to identify cancer cases that need to be reported for case finding.

• Conduct primary data abstraction for oncology measures and registries.

• Ensure accuracy in data abstraction and compliance with both organizational quality standards and oncology regulatory guidelines.

• Maintain long-term follow-up data collection and entry for patients in the cancer registry.

• Gather data for special studies related to the National Cancer Database as needed.

• Comply with the requirements of the Oncology Abstraction Training Program.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must possess an Oncology Data Specialist credential from the National Cancer Registrars Association (NCRA) obtained within 36 months (3 years) of the hire date or job transfer date.

• Preference for registrars who specialize in Tumors.

• High school diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience, currently enrolled in or having successfully completed a NCRA-accredited certificate program, or an Associate's/Bachelor's degree; alternatively, 4 years of relevant cumulative job-specific experience is required.

• Must adhere to the requirements of the Oncology Abstraction Training Program.
