This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assess clinical documentation to assign and sequence diagnostic and procedural codes for designated patient categories.
• Verify APC calculations to ensure accurate representation of diagnoses and procedures documented in the clinical records for hospitals.
• Conduct documentation reviews and evaluations for precise abstraction of clinical data.
• Uphold strict patient and provider confidentiality in accordance with all HIPAA Guidelines.
• Engage in client and Savista staff meetings, training sessions, and conference calls as requested and/or mandated.
• A current AHIMA credential such as RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCA, or an active AAPC credential including COC, CCS-P, or CPC, or a related specialty credential.
• A minimum of two years of recent and relevant hands-on coding experience.
• Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, pathophysiology, as well as ICD-10 and CPT/HCPCS code sets.
• Capability to consistently code at a 95% quality threshold while adhering to client-specific and/or Savista production and/or quality standards.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office, with the ability to enter data and manage Excel files through sorting and filtering.
