Coding Specialist, Educator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.

📋 Description

• Take a leading role in guiding the orientation and ongoing education of all healthcare professionals involved in the coding and documentation processes at CentraCare.

• Ensure the accuracy of information in coding processes through regular audits.

• Conduct reeducation and training for staff to help departments achieve their targets.

• Act as an expert resource on all coding systems, regulations, and reimbursement requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.

• Completion of college-level coding courses in IDC, CPT4, and HCPCS, verified by AHIMA or AAPC, or relevant experience in anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Coding is required.

• AHIMA (CCS, CCS-P, RHIT, or RHIA) or AAPC Coding Credential is necessary.

• Successful completion of a medical terminology course is preferred.

• Prior experience with EPIC is preferred.

• A working knowledge of insurance and third-party billing is preferred.

• Proficient computer skills and keyboard knowledge are required.

• Starting salary of $58,947.20 per year, with increases based on experience.

• Salary range: $58,947.20 - $88,400.00 per year.
