
On-Board Courier β Independent Contractor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
β’ Collect sealed packages from specified locations, including airports, airline facilities, or Mercury service partners.
β’ Ensure continuous possession and maintain the chain of custody throughout all assignments.
β’ Accompany shipments on scheduled commercial flights.
β’ Verify shipment labels, documentation, seals, and piece counts during both collection and delivery.
β’ Adhere to specific handling, security, temperature-control, and communication requirements for each assignment.
β’ Complete necessary airline check-in, security screening, customs, and immigration procedures as needed.
β’ Provide updates on milestones, including collection, airport arrival, check-in, departure, arrival, customs clearance, and final delivery.
β’ Report any delays, missed connections, damaged packaging, temperature issues, customs problems, and other exceptions immediately.
β’ Protect shipping documents and confidential information.
β’ Deliver shipments to authorized recipients and obtain proof of delivery.
β’ Previous experience in aviation, logistics, international travel, healthcare logistics, or similar onboard courier services.
β’ Possession of a valid passport with adequate remaining validity for international travel.
β’ Willingness to travel domestically and internationally on short notice.
β’ Legal eligibility to enter countries required for accepted assignments.
β’ Reliable transportation to and from the departure airport.
β’ Dependable smartphone equipped for international calling, messaging, email, and data usage.
β’ Strong verbal and written communication skills.
β’ Keen attention to detail and ability to adhere to shipment-specific instructions.
β’ Capacity to remain composed and make informed decisions during delays or travel disruptions.
β’ Professional appearance coupled with a customer-service oriented mindset.
β’ Ability to navigate airports, airline terminals, customs facilities, and public transportation independently.
β’ Availability for long or irregular travel itineraries.
β’ Capability to lift, carry, and handle shipments weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable assistance.
β’ Flexibility to adjust to flight changes, overnight travel, weekends, holidays, and varying time zones.
β’ Adherence to airline, airport, customs, immigration, and security regulations.
