Oil and Gas Energy Lawyer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oklahoma.

📋 Description

• Provide guidance to clients on compliance with regulations pertaining to oil and gas exploration, production, and transportation, covering environmental regulations, permitting requirements, and land use considerations.

• Prepare and negotiate various oil and gas contracts, including leases, joint operating agreements, purchase and sale agreements, processing agreements, and pipeline contracts.

• Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

• Offer expert legal counsel and support to clients within the energy sector.

• Work closely with prominent Oil & Gas clients to develop legal strategies and promote business success.

⛳️ Requirements

• A valid bar license in the state of residence.

• A minimum of 8+ years of legal experience, specializing in oil and gas law.

• In-depth understanding of U.S. federal and state legislation and regulations governing the oil and gas sector.

• Familiarity with the Mineral Leasing Act, Clean Air Act, and Natural Gas Act.

• Experience with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) agreements.

• Background in advising on upstream, midstream, and downstream oil and gas transactions and projects.

• Knowledge of energy commodities, particularly pipelines and terminals.

• Experience in counseling on energy compliance issues.

• Experience with energy-specific data center activities involving acquisitions, leases, commercial contracts, power purchase agreements, power supply, or utilities.

• Familiarity with FERC regulatory matters.

• Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical abilities.

• Capability to provide effective client advice and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.

• Required legal authorization to work; employment may depend on a background check and proof of identity.
