This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky.
• Conduct proactive reviews of all OASIS assessments to verify their appropriateness, completeness, and adherence to regulations.
• Assess OASIS data for internal consistency, accuracy, and its correlation with patient condition and care delivery.
• Leverage OASIS variation, validation, or alert reports to pinpoint potential data integrity issues.
• Ensure that documentation accurately reflects clinical representations and meets reimbursement compliance.
• Collaborate with clinicians and agency personnel to resolve documentation discrepancies or data integrity challenges.
• Offer guidance to clinicians on suitable corrections in line with agency policies and regulatory standards.
• Facilitate education and reinforcement of best practices concerning OASIS completion and assessment accuracy.
• Review visit utilization to ensure alignment with patient conditions, care plans, and clinical guidelines.
• Identify and communicate potential underutilization, overutilization, or financial risks to the Coding and OASIS Manager, Clinical Manager, or their designee.
• Highlight trends that may affect reimbursement, outcomes, or compliance.
• Identify and relay troubling trends or recurring issues discovered during OASIS reviews.
• Engage in Quality Improvement and Corporate Compliance initiatives as assigned.
• Assist with additional chart audits or documentation assessments as necessary.
• Keep abreast of current OASIS standards, regulatory updates, and industry best practices.
• Exemplify and uphold CAPLICO values in all interactions and work practices.
• Proficient understanding of the OASIS data set and the assessment process.
• Comprehensive knowledge of federal regulations and state licensure requirements for home health care.
• Familiarity with the legal and regulatory framework governing the home health industry.
• Capacity to work independently while fostering strong collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
• High level of computer proficiency, including Microsoft Outlook and agency documentation systems.
• Valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, and access to reliable transportation or public transit.
• A minimum of two (2) years of experience in home health clinical, coding, or billing (preferred).
• OASIS certification (COS-C) (preferred).
