Nyanja/English OPI, VRI Interpretation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mozambique.

📋 Description

• Respond to calls with professionalism, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be prepared to take notes during calls.

• Familiarize yourself with the specific vocabulary relevant to the industry you are interpreting for, particularly healthcare and medical terminology.

• Ensure accurate and complete rendering of all messages, without adding, omitting, or substituting any information.

• Deliver the highest standard of customer service during interpretation sessions.

• Facilitate effective communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients by ensuring precise and complete interpretation of messages.

• Adhere to established standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training.

• Demonstrate eagerness to acquire new professional certifications.

• Maintain communication and report to your team leader.

• Follow dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language "Nyanja."

• At least 1 year of experience in over-the-telephone interpretation with a reputable interpretation company.

• Strong understanding of medical terminology.

• Familiarity with legal terminology is an advantage.

• International certifications in the healthcare sector are a plus (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• High emotional intelligence and cultural tolerance.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills.
