NVP of Agency Underwriting – East Coast

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Evaluate and finalize various escalations requiring Second Level Reviews by the Vice Presidents of underwriting.

• Relay decisions to the VP of underwriting and detail the decision-making rationale.

• Conduct mandatory daily team meetings with all VPs to discuss and assess any Second Level Review (SLR) escalations.

• Execute weekly audits of the VPs' escalation reviews that were not forwarded to SLR.

• Generate monthly reports on all escalations and their results for discussion with the SVP of Agency Underwriting and the VPs.

• Develop the Agency Underwriting Scenario Team and convey clarifications to the manager.

• Oversee, re-evaluate, update, and publish the “Agency Questions Log” in Airtable and on the Underwriting page.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or Finance, advanced degree preferred.

• Over 10 years of experience in mortgage underwriting, including a minimum of 2 years in a management role.

• Comprehensive knowledge of risk assessment and regulatory compliance.

• Strong understanding of FHA, VA, and conventional loan programs.

• Proven track record of leading teams and offering constructive feedback to enhance team performance.

• Highly self-driven and motivated.
