This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Vermont.
β’ Evaluate the quality of care and services provided by healthcare facilities and providers through onsite observations, interviews, and record assessments.
β’ Detect inadequate practices and connect findings to federal and state statutory and regulatory standards.
β’ Work in collaboration with other surveyors to assess adherence to quality care, quality of life, and structural regulations.
β’ Compose deficiency statements in accordance with the CMS Principles of Documentation.
β’ Prepare reports and summaries following CMS and state guidelines and timelines.
β’ Utilize computer programs and applications with proficiency.
β’ Successfully complete the CMS Federal Qualification Test (SMQT) within six to twelve months of employment.
β’ Must possess, or be eligible for, licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Vermont, or be eligible to practice in Vermont through a multi-state license.
β’ A minimum of four (4) years of professional nursing experience is required.
β’ Maintaining Vermont licensure or a multi-state Registered Nurse license is mandatory as a condition of employment.
β’ Certification by passing the Surveyor Minimum Qualifications Test (SMQT) must be achieved within one year of hiring.
β’ Candidates must pass a background investigation and required checks, which include criminal record, abuse registry, OIG exclusion database, and motor vehicle record checks.
β’ Significant travel throughout Vermont is required.
β’ Ability to spend nights in hotels several times weekly or monthly is necessary.
β’ A reliable means of transportation is essential.
β’ Proficiency in using computer programs and applications must be demonstrated.
β’ Evening and weekend availability is necessary.
β’ A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
