Nurse Practitioner, GLP-1 Prescriber

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wyoming.

📋 Description

• Conduct synchronous telehealth evaluations for new GLP-1 patients, evaluating their eligibility, comorbidities, contraindications, and treatment objectives in accordance with Berry Street's clinical protocol.

• Prescribe and adjust dosages of FDA-approved GLP-1 medications (such as Wegovy, Zepbound, Ozempic, Mounjaro, etc.) under your independent prescriptive authority.

• Oversee follow-up appointments, dose adjustments, side effect counseling, and lab reviews through a combination of synchronous visits and asynchronous chart reviews, complying with applicable state laws.

• Review Berry Street RD care summaries prior to prescribing encounters and reference the documented lifestyle modification history in your clinical notes.

• Authorize Letters of Medical Necessity for prior authorization submissions.

• Address PA appeals that require clinical input within 48 hours and assist with renewal PA documentation every 6–12 months.

• Engage in Medical Director-led clinical reviews, updates to protocols, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance the prescribing experience continuously.

• Maintain active licensure, independent prescriptive authority, malpractice coverage, and payer credentialing in contracted states.

• Take part in periodic chart audits and quality assessments led by the Medical Director.

⛳️ Requirements

• Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license and current ANCC or AANP board certification (FNP, AGNP/AGPCNP, or an equivalent population-focused certification suitable for adult weight management).

• Active licenses in at least 30 U.S. states, prioritizing states that offer full independent practice and prescriptive authority, including: WA, AZ, OR, OK, UT, NV, IA, KS, ID, HI, NH, MT, RI, DE, SD, ND, AK, DC, WY; licensure in all 50 states is strongly preferred.

• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure clinical experience managing patients with obesity, metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes, or related cardiometabolic conditions.

• Comfortable working in a fully remote clinical setting with proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) platforms.

• Active NPI and professional liability/malpractice insurance that covers telehealth NP encounters.

• Authorized to work and physically located in the U.S.

• Training or certification in obesity medicine (e.g., SCOPE, OMA coursework, ABOM-eligible training) is advantageous.

• Previous telehealth prescribing experience in weight management or metabolic health is a plus.
