
Nurse Practitioner, GLP-1 Prescriber

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.
β’ Conduct synchronous telehealth evaluations for new GLP-1 patients, evaluating eligibility, comorbidities, contraindications, and treatment objectives according to Berry Street's clinical protocols.
β’ Prescribe and adjust dosages of FDA-approved GLP-1 medications (Wegovy, Zepbound, Ozempic, Mounjaro, etc.) under your independent prescriptive authority.
β’ Oversee follow-up appointments, dose adjustments, side effect counseling, and lab reviews through a combination of synchronous visits and asynchronous chart reviews, in compliance with applicable state laws.
β’ Review Berry Street RD care summaries prior to prescribing interactions and refer to documented lifestyle modification history in your clinical notes.
β’ Complete Letters of Medical Necessity for prior authorization requests.
β’ Address PA appeals that require clinical insights within 48 hours and assist with renewal PA documentation every 6 to 12 months.
β’ Engage in clinical reviews, protocol updates, and quality improvement initiatives led by the Medical Director to enhance the prescribing experience continuously.
β’ Maintain active licensure, independent prescriptive authority, malpractice insurance, and payer credentialing across contracted states.
β’ Take part in periodic chart audits and quality assessments directed by the Medical Director.
β’ Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license and current ANCC or AANP board certification (FNP, AGNP/AGPCNP, or a similar population-focused certification suitable for adult weight management).
β’ Active licenses in at least 30 U.S. states, with a focus on states that provide full independent practice and prescriptive authority, including: WA, AZ, OR, OK, UT, NV, IA, KS, ID, HI, NH, MT, RI, DE, SD, ND, AK, DC, WY; 50-state licensure is highly preferred.
β’ A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure clinical experience in managing patients with obesity, metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes, or related cardiometabolic conditions.
β’ Comfort in a fully remote clinical setting with proficiency in EHR platforms.
β’ Active NPI and professional liability/malpractice insurance covering telehealth NP interactions.
β’ Authorized to work and located physically in the U.S.
β’ Training or certification in obesity medicine (e.g., SCOPE, OMA coursework, ABOM-eligible training) is an advantage.
β’ Previous telehealth prescribing experience in weight management or metabolic health is a bonus.
β’ Hourly compensation ranging from $50 to $80 per hour, based on experience, breadth of state licensure, and credentials in obesity medicine.
