This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska.
β’ Perform synchronous telehealth evaluations for new GLP-1 patients, evaluating eligibility, comorbidities, contraindications, and treatment objectives following Berry Street's clinical guidelines.
β’ Prescribe and adjust FDA-approved GLP-1 medications (such as Wegovy, Zepbound, Ozempic, Mounjaro, etc.) utilizing your own independent prescriptive authority.
β’ Oversee follow-up appointments, dose adjustments, side effect counseling, and lab assessments through a combination of synchronous visits and asynchronous chart reviews, complying with relevant state regulations.
β’ Review Berry Street RD care summaries prior to prescribing sessions and incorporate documented lifestyle modification history into your clinical records.
β’ Endorse Letters of Medical Necessity for prior authorization requests.
β’ Address PA appeals needing clinical feedback within 48 hours and assist with renewal PA documentation every 6 to 12 months.
β’ Engage in clinical assessments led by the Medical Director, participate in protocol enhancements, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives to continually enhance the prescribing process.
β’ Maintain active licensure, independent prescriptive authority, malpractice insurance, and payer credentialing across contracted states.
β’ Take part in periodic chart audits and quality assessments conducted by the Medical Director.
β’ Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license and valid ANCC or AANP board certification (FNP, AGNP/AGPCNP, or an equivalent certification suitable for adult weight management).
β’ Active licenses in at least 30 U.S. states, prioritizing those that provide full independent practice and prescriptive authority, including: WA, AZ, OR, OK, UT, NV, IA, KS, ID, HI, NH, MT, RI, DE, SD, ND, AK, DC, WY; 50-state licensure is highly preferred.
β’ A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience post-licensure in managing patients with obesity, metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes, or related cardiometabolic disorders.
β’ Ability to thrive in a fully remote clinical setting with competence in EHR platforms.
β’ Possession of an active NPI and professional liability/malpractice insurance that covers telehealth NP consultations.
β’ Authorized to work in the U.S. and physically based within the country.
β’ Training or certification in obesity medicine (e.g., SCOPE, OMA coursework, ABOM-eligible training) is advantageous.
β’ Previous telehealth prescribing experience in weight management or metabolic health is a plus.
β’ Competitive hourly pay ranging from $50 to $80/hour, based on experience, breadth of state licensure, and obesity-medicine credentials.
