Nuer OPI/VRI Interpretation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Sudan.

📋 Description

• Respond to calls in a professional manner, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be ready to take notes during calls.

• Familiarize yourself with the specific vocabulary relevant to the industry in which the interpreter operates, particularly in healthcare and medical fields.

• Accurately and completely convey all messages without adding, omitting, or altering any content.

• Deliver the highest level of customer service during interpretation sessions.

• Facilitate communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and Clients by providing accurate and complete interpretation of the messages.

• Implement standards of practice consistently.

• Participate in internal professional training.

• Show enthusiasm for obtaining new professional certifications.

• Communicate and provide updates to your team leader.

• Adhere to dress code regulations for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language, "Nuer".

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in over-the-phone interpretation within a reputable interpretation company.

• Strong understanding of medical terminology.

• Awareness of legal terminology is considered an advantage.

• Possession of international certifications in the healthcare sector is a plus (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• High emotional intelligence and an appreciation for diverse cultures.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills.
