This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Louisiana.
• Oversee and manage the organization's operational budget, which ranges from $25,000,000 to $75,000,000, ensuring responsible fiscal management and strategic resource allocation.
• Lead and provide direction to the Finance team, including responsibilities for hiring, training, and performance evaluation.
• Prepare and evaluate financial reports, forecasts, and projections to aid in decision-making and maintain the organization’s financial health.
• Coordinate the annual audit process, which entails preparation for and facilitation of the federal single audit and IRS 990 filings.
• Supervise grant accounting functions, which include budgeting, reporting, and ensuring compliance with grant stipulations.
• Develop and establish financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to protect assets and ensure adherence to regulatory standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with NNPHI’s directors and their portfolios to support organizational objectives and initiatives, offering financial insights and recommendations as necessary.
• Stay informed about current trends and best practices in nonprofit finance and accounting.
• A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline; CPA is mandatory.
• At least 5 years of experience in financial management, particularly in nonprofit accounting and grant management.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles.
• Proven track record of managing substantial operational budgets and overseeing financial operations within a complex organization.
• Experience in preparing IRS Form 990 and coordinating federal single audits.
• Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the capability to collaborate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
• Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
• Detail-oriented with robust analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in accounting software systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with Sage Intacct is an advantage.
