
Nomadic Mission Operator – Contractor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.
• Operate test vehicles across various states, gathering data during multi-day missions and ensuring the efficient transfer of data back to Latitude.
• Adhere to a work schedule consisting of 6 days a week, totaling up to 60 hours, with a rotation of 3 weeks on and 1 week off.
• Conduct daily start-up, system engagement/disengagement, and shutdown procedures for development vehicles.
• Monitor and troubleshoot software and hardware systems actively while on the road.
• Perform data collection in line with stringent safety and compliance protocols.
• Keep precise and comprehensive records on system performance and data collection results.
• Represent the company in a professional and responsible manner while driving in public settings, prioritizing the safety of all road users.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required, with two years of work experience. An Associate or Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license in the state of residence and meet Latitude AI’s minimum driving record standards, verified through Motor Vehicle Record background checks prior to hiring and periodically thereafter.
• An active passport or passport card is required.
• Ability to successfully pass a ten-panel drug screening and criminal background checks conducted prior to employment and periodically thereafter.
• Comfortable with extended hours of driving and working in close proximity to others while maintaining professionalism and focus.
• Strong enthusiasm for technology, with a quick adaptability to challenges and openness to change.
• Proficient with computer usage, including typing, checking network connections, and navigating web-based applications.
• Basic troubleshooting capabilities to identify issues with both software and hardware.
• Contributes positively to a professional work environment while collaborating with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to work independently or with minimal oversight.
• Demonstrates a strong sense of responsibility and reliability—arriving on time and ready to work each day.
• A keen interest in learning new technologies.
• Previous experience in technical driving, fleet operations, or vehicle testing environments where compliance and adherence to procedures were essential is a plus.
• Familiarity with vehicle diagnostics and data logging tools.
• Knowledge of work management tools such as Jira, Slack, Driver Schedule, etc.
• Airfare will be provided for travel to and from a location.
