NOC Engineer – Tier 2, Managed Services

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pakistan.

📋 Description

• Provide support and manage a multi-tenant Managed Services environment catering to various customer sectors.

• Responsible for incident management, advanced diagnostics, performance enhancement, and proactive surveillance of infrastructure, systems, and applications.

• Serve as the Tier 2 escalation point for incidents escalated from the Tier 1 NOC.

• Conduct in-depth troubleshooting for Windows Servers (AD, DNS, GPO, IIS), Linux systems, and databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MSSQL).

• Take ownership of incidents from identification to resolution and root cause analysis (RCA).

• Engage in major incident response (P1/P2) and participate in post-incident evaluations.

• Configure and enhance monitoring systems using tools like Zabbix.

• Oversee and troubleshoot Windows Server environments, Linux distributions (Ubuntu, RHEL, CentOS), virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM), and cloud services (Azure, AWS, GCP).

• Monitor and resolve issues related to MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MSSQL databases.

• Create and maintain automation scripts utilizing Bash, PowerShell, or Python.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a NOC, MSP, or IT operations setting.

• Experience working in a 24/7 NOC or MSP environment is mandatory.

• Strong familiarity with monitoring tools such as Zabbix (or equivalent).

• Solid proficiency in Windows Server (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP) and Linux administration (CLI, networking, logs).

• Experience in database troubleshooting and understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, firewalls).

• Knowledge of cloud platforms (preferably Azure) and virtualization technologies.

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

• Capability to handle high-pressure incidents and manage multiple concurrent tickets.

• Understanding of ITIL practices, including Incident, Problem, and Change Management.

• Practical experience with at least one of the following: Python, PowerShell, or Bash.

• Experience with integrating tools via APIs is a significant advantage.

• Nice-to-Have: Experience with container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes), CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
