This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• The Regional Patient Access Manager (RPAM) plays a crucial role, focusing on three (3) primary responsibilities: 1) offering field access support services and education to Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) to optimize patient access to Company products and expedite treatment initiation.
• Engaging with all Specialty Pharmacies (SPs), Closed Door Pharmacies (CDPs) – including Genoa, and Patient-Physician Services (HUB partner) to support Neurocrine Biosciences products marketed in the U.S.
• Maintaining and enhancing the integrity of the Neurocrine Biosciences pharmacy distribution network by performing all vetting activities within a designated area, including communicating approvals, denials, or any subsequent removals from the network.
• Offering support and education to all HCP entities regarding coverage issues for on-label prescriptions for Company products that are already in process; providing access support services, guidance on processes and forms, and education on payer-specific coverage issues along with Company patient financial support programs.
• Serving as a subject matter expert on regional and national payer coverage policies and procedures.
• Collaborating cross-functionally with field sales, network pharmacies, market access, commercial analytics, and operations.
• Working closely with Payer Marketing to develop materials that enhance customer awareness of essential coverage requirements.
• Additionally, the RPAM will act as a key operational professional to ensure that the distribution network operates at optimal effectiveness by leveraging end-user feedback.
• A BS/BA degree in a related field AND at least 6 years of commercial experience in pharma/biotech, with a minimum of 2 years in specialty pharmacy/market access.
• Experience with specialty products, preferably within the CNS field.
• Previous roles in other areas of pharma/biotech are desirable.
• Alternatively, a Master’s degree or MBA is preferred, accompanied by 4+ years of relevant experience.
• OR a PharmD or PhD with a minimum of 2 years of related experience.
• Deep understanding of specialty pharmacies, managed care, pharmacy benefit managers, and government payers and their impact on product access.
• Excellent knowledge of patient support programs, including reimbursement assistance and financial aid adherence programs.
• Strong comprehension of the prescription adjudication process.
• Ability to effectively communicate payer coverage criteria and prior authorization processes.
• Previous experience in diverse functions within pharma/biotech is a plus, including sales, management, marketing, and managed markets.
• A solid grasp of current issues within the marketplace, pharmaceutical industry, and national healthcare system.
• Willingness to travel overnight up to 60% of the time, which may include working with field sales, attending business meetings, industry events, and collaborating with key customers.
