This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Missouri.
• The Regional Patient Access Manager (RPAM) is tasked with three primary responsibilities: delivering field access support services and education to Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) to enhance patient access to Company products and expedite the treatment process.
• Engaging with all Specialty Pharmacies (SPs), Closed Door Pharmacies (CDPs), and Patient-Physician Services (HUB partner) to support the marketed products of Neurocrine Biosciences in the U.S.
• Establishing and maintaining the integrity of the Neurocrine Biosciences pharmacy distribution network by performing all vetting activities within a designated geographic area.
• Offering assistance and education to all HCP entities concerning coverage issues for on-label prescriptions of Company products that are already in progress.
• Serving as a subject matter expert on regional and national payer coverage policies and processes.
• Collaborating cross-functionally with field sales, network pharmacies, market access, commercial analytics, and operations.
• Working closely with Payer Marketing to develop materials that enhance customer awareness of essential coverage requirements.
• The RPAM will play a crucial operational role, ensuring the distribution network operates at optimal effectiveness by leveraging end-user feedback.
• The RPAM will consistently evaluate processes, suggest new strategies related to workflow, and share best practices with trade leadership regarding specialty distribution efficiency.
• A BS/BA degree in a relevant field AND a minimum of 6 years of commercial experience in pharma/biotech, including at least 2 years of experience with specialty pharmacy/market access.
• Experience with specialty products, particularly in CNS, is preferred.
• Previous experience in other roles within pharma/biotech is desirable.
• Alternatively, a Master’s degree or MBA is preferred with at least 4 years of related experience.
• Alternatively, a PharmD or PhD with a minimum of 2 years of related experience is acceptable.
• A solid understanding of specialty pharmacies, managed care, pharmacy benefit managers, and government payers and their influence on product access.
• Extensive knowledge of patient support programs, including reimbursement support, financial assistance, and adherence programs.
• Strong comprehension of the prescription adjudication process.
• Capability to communicate payer coverage criteria and prior authorization processes.
• Previous experience in various roles within pharma/biotech, such as sales, management, marketing, and managed markets, is preferred.
• A good understanding of current trends and issues within the marketplace, pharmaceutical industry, and national healthcare system.
• Willingness to travel overnight up to 60% of the time.
