This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas, +3 more states.
• Independently executes intricate professional coding across various specialties and environments.
• Code sophisticated professional encounters and procedures; ensure accurate sequencing, modifiers, E/M level selection, and documentation consistency.
• Address coding-related edits and denials by identifying the underlying cause.
• Implement payer medical policies, NCCI concepts, and telehealth coding regulations as they pertain to professional fee claims.
• Offer immediate support to colleagues on standard coding scenarios.
• Engage in internal quality review initiatives and apply education/corrective actions based on findings.
• Utilize analytical problem-solving skills for the prevention of denials and edits.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in physician/provider coding is required.
• CPC or CCS-P certification is mandatory.
• Advanced proficiency in ICD‑10‑CM, CPT®, HCPCS, and modifiers; strong capabilities in E/M coding and payer policy interpretation.
• Experience in a teaching hospital or trauma center coding is preferred.
• Familiarity with CT, MRI, and Ultrasound coding is advantageous.
• Proficient in utilizing Epic professional coding work queues and encoder tools.
