Network Engineer – Projects

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Manage intricate network projects from detailed design to production deployment in LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, MPLS, VPN, and wireless settings.

• Lead discovery sessions within client environments, documenting current infrastructure, identifying risks, and formulating migration strategies.

• Configure, deploy, and provide support for routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless solutions across various vendor technologies.

• Collaborate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure timely and scope-compliant project delivery.

• Oversee post-migration stabilization activities and address cutover issues prior to handing over services to the BAU team.

• Develop and present network designs, project plans, and technical recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing project delivery, documentation, and operational efficiency.

• Utilize strong networking fundamentals to address complex technical challenges in both familiar and new environments.


⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience as a Network Engineer, preferably within an MSP, systems integrator, or project delivery setting.

• In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP networking and enterprise networking protocols, including BGP, OSPF, VLANs, spanning tree, VRRP, LAG/MCLAG, and NAT/PAT.

• Experience in designing, deploying, and troubleshooting IPsec and SSL VPN solutions.

• Practical experience with next-generation firewall technologies, including IPS, web filtering, and application control.

• Familiarity with technologies such as Fortinet, Palo Alto, Aruba, Cisco, MikroTik, and/or Juniper.

• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Possession of Australian NV1 Security Clearance, or eligibility to obtain one.

• A valid Vulnerable People / Working with Children Check (WWCC) and Police Check are mandatory.
