
Network Engineer – Core Infrastructure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.
• Design and construct data centers from the ground up, which includes cages, racks, PDU/power, structured cabling, and hardware installation.
• Provide connectivity via circuits, dark fiber, and DIA while coordinating with carriers and vendors, managing cross-connects, and conducting capacity planning.
• Establish and enhance data center fabrics such as Cisco ACI and HPE Juniper Apstra.
• Create, implement, and uphold zero-trust, defense-in-depth networks that focus on firewall security.
• Develop and refine network access controls, including RBAC, least privilege, and segmentation strategies.
• Collaborate with Engineering and IT Security to develop and monitor secure functionalities.
• Address high-volume infrastructure requests related to provisioning, access, connectivity, and troubleshooting.
• Oversee and maintain physical infrastructure, cloud environments, and remote locations.
• React to critical incidents to ensure maximum uptime.
• Manage and deploy infrastructure as code on a large scale.
• Create automation, internal tools, and AI agents to minimize operational burdens.
• Produce policies, procedures, and technical documentation.
• Advocate for secure network practices and mentor senior team members.
• A minimum of 2 years of network engineering experience with a focus on security.
• Practical experience with firewalls, including Palo Alto Networks, PAN-OS, or Panorama.
• Hands-on experience with data center and physical infrastructure, including racking, cabling, power, cross-connects, and hardware setup.
• Proficient understanding of switching concepts: VLANs and capacity planning.
• Fundamental knowledge of routing protocols: OSPF, BGP, ECMP, and PBR.
• Familiarity with public cloud networking environments: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with hybrid connectivity solutions.
• Awareness of infrastructure-as-code and automation tools, such as Terraform and Ansible.
• Comfort in working with VPN and remote-access connectivity.
• Knowledge of platforms from Palo Alto Networks, Cisco, HPE Juniper Networking, and HPE Aruba Networking.
