Network Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and oversee large-scale enterprise network architectures, encompassing LAN, WAN, routing, and switching.

• Configure and enhance network devices for secure and efficient performance that aligns with mission requirements.

• Ensure adherence to DoD cybersecurity regulations, including RMF, STIGs, and IAVM guidelines.

• Conduct vulnerability assessments, implement necessary mitigations, and validate cybersecurity controls.

• Configure and manage dynamic routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF.

• Support backhaul technologies for communication systems, including Land Mobile Radio (LMR).

• Develop and maintain network diagrams, topology maps, and engineering documentation utilizing tools like Microsoft Visio.

• Monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot network performance using Wireshark and SolarWinds.

• Deploy and maintain enterprise-level Cisco and Juniper routers, switches, and firewalls.

• Act as a technical liaison, report on progress, and provide solutions to stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with nine (9) years of relevant experience; four (4) additional years of experience may substitute for the degree.

• Proficiency in large-scale enterprise network architectures.

• In-depth knowledge of DoD-specific standards, including RMF, STIGs, and JIE.

• Expertise in dynamic routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF.

• Experience with advanced networking hardware from Cisco and Juniper.

• Proficient in creating detailed engineering documentation.

• Skilled in utilizing diagnostic tools like Wireshark and SolarWinds.

• No security clearance is required to start, but the candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.

• Desired: Experience with Navy or USMC networks or within Federal IT environments.

• Desired: Familiarity with Land Mobile Radio (LMR) communication systems.
