Network Engagement Director – Africa Region

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Africa.

📋 Description

• Act as the main strategic partner to a group of partner CEOs, potential CEOs, and senior leadership teams, offering executive-level advisory support.

• Guide the strategic management of a regional partner portfolio by evaluating organizational health, performance, opportunities, and risks.

• Identify priorities for regional investments and allocate support across functions.

• Direct strategic partner engagements and in-country support missions.

• Lead organizational development initiatives within partner organizations, focusing on strategy, program quality, theory of change, operating models, governance, and leadership effectiveness.

• Oversee the regional partner risk framework and coordinate strategies for risk mitigation.

• Support early-stage entrepreneurs in the formation and launch of their organizations.

• Influence regional strategic priorities through leadership development platforms, executive communities of practice, peer learning, and collaboration among partners.

• Steer the strategic implementation of artificial intelligence in the Africa region.

• Consolidate regional intelligence and trends into strategic recommendations and resources for decision support.

• Represent the Africa region in global cross-functional initiatives.

• Participate in network-wide initiatives for organizational and leadership development.

• Enhance partner financial sustainability and fundraising strategies.

• Manage portfolio-level financial sustainability, identify funding gaps, and maintain relationships with donors.

• Create fundraising materials such as concept notes, proposal inputs, investment cases, and donor briefings.

• Assist in regional financial stewardship and program investment management.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.

• At least 8+ years of relevant professional experience.

• Demonstrated success in developing and executing cross-functional organizational strategies.

• Experience in designing and implementing complex learning agendas, adult learning programs, and reflection frameworks.

• Background in project management and operational systems design in intricate, multi-stakeholder or matrix environments.

• Capability to translate high-level visions into actionable operational plans while managing competing priorities.

• Exceptional facilitation and instructional design skills for adult learners in both virtual and in-person environments.

• Profound understanding of African cultural, political, and historical contexts.

• Ability to navigate sensitively in diverse environments.

• High emotional and social intelligence with experience in building trust-based relationships with senior leaders and cross-functional teams.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and digital collaboration platforms.

• Professional experience in international or multi-country contexts, particularly within Africa, is desirable.

• Familiarity with Teach For All’s network partners, Unifying Principles, or Early Stage Entrepreneurship model is a plus.

• Fluency in French or other major languages spoken in the Africa region is desirable.

• Valid work and residency authorization in the country of hire at the time of application; no employment visa sponsorship, immigration assistance, or work-permit/residency support provided.

• Willingness to travel up to 30%.

• Availability for occasional non-traditional hours for early or late calls across different time zones.
