
Network Cabling Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Manage the complete lifecycle of network cabling projects, which includes planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource management.
• Work in partnership with IT departments, engineers, vendors, and other stakeholders to establish project scope and requirements.
• Create project timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
• Travel to various domestic locations.
• Lead the design and implementation of network cabling layouts in accordance with TIA/EIA-568 and ANSI/BICSI standards.
• Perform site surveys and suggest optimal cabling designs.
• Oversee the installation, termination, and testing of Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber-optic cabling.
• Coordinate on-site cabling technicians and subcontractors.
• Provide training, guidance, and support for cabling installation and troubleshooting.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory standards, local codes, and safety regulations.
• Supervise the testing and certification of completed cabling systems.
• Identify and resolve installation challenges and obstacles.
• Manage post-installation cabling issues and service requests.
• Source materials, tools, and equipment from third-party vendors and suppliers.
• Foster client relationships, provide project updates, and address any changes in scope.
• Maintain project records, design diagrams, work orders, and change orders.
• Compile project progress reports and ensure documentation is kept current.
• Willing to travel and engage in cabling work more than 75% of the time.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in network cabling, infrastructure design, or a similar field.
• Proven experience in managing and supervising network cabling installation projects, including team leadership.
• Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects at once.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Capable of working in construction sites, server rooms, and various environments.
• Comfortable with climbing ladders, lifting materials, and conducting site inspections.
• On-call support will be required.
• Preferred: experience with fiber-optic cabling and installations.
• Preferred: knowledge of network infrastructure planning and design, including switches, routers, and servers.
• Preferred: familiarity with cable management systems and troubleshooting tools.
• Preferred: ability to read and interpret architectural, electrical, and mechanical drawings.
