Nepali/English Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Professionally respond to calls while adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be prepared to take notes during calls.

• Familiarize yourself with the specific terminology relevant to the industry in which you are interpreting, particularly in healthcare and medical fields. Training will be provided.

• Accurately and fully convey all messages, ensuring no additions, omissions, or substitutions.

• Deliver exceptional customer service throughout the interpreting process.

• Facilitate effective communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients by providing precise and comprehensive interpretations of messages.

• Uphold professional standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training sessions.

• Show enthusiasm for obtaining new professional certifications.

• Communicate regularly and report to your team leader.

• Adhere to dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language "Nepali".

• A minimum of 1 year of telephone interpretation experience in a reputable interpretation company is advantageous, though not required.

• Familiarity with medical terminology is beneficial, but not essential.

• Awareness of legal terminology is an asset.

• Possession of international certifications in the healthcare sector is a plus (such as PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• Strong emotional intelligence and an appreciation for diverse cultures.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention abilities.
