📋 Description

• The National Transplant Accounts Director for Lung Bioengineering (LBE) serves as a key field-based resource tasked with nurturing and managing vital relationships with transplant administration, spearheading contract negotiations, formulating business cases, and offering expertise in reimbursement and coverage while educating stakeholders on LBE's offerings.

• This position is accountable for implementing engagement strategies and tactical plans that promote favorable payer access and reimbursement for LBE services and products.

• The role collaborates closely with Payer Account Directors to bolster managed care initiatives that guarantee patient access to LBE services and products.

• This position works in partnership with transplant administrators, healthcare providers, and cross-functional teams to identify and overcome access barriers and provide effective solutions.

• Additionally, the role supports educational efforts for stakeholders regarding reimbursement processes and access pathways.

• Establish and nurture LBE’s relationships with transplant administration, pertinent KOL payer stakeholders, and transplant benefit networks, fostering business prospects and executing action plans that align with brand strategy and payer objectives.

• Network and identify key contacts and opportunities, developing, pitching, and implementing business initiatives with transplant leadership to enhance access and achieve organizational goals.

• Negotiate contracts with transplant centers and Organ Procurement Organizations under the guidance of LBE leadership, adhering to finance and legal parameters, while collaborating with health systems, transplant finance, and legal teams to navigate the contracting process from initiation to execution and manage ongoing contract amendments.

• Provide expertise in reimbursement and coverage while educating transplant centers, administrators, and providers on LBE’s commercial services, products, and reimbursement processes to effectively tackle access challenges.

• Maintain accurate customer data in CRM and SAP systems, serving as the primary internal invoicing contact for finance and supporting operational processes.

• Conduct regular meetings with stakeholders from transplant hospitals to discuss business cases, performance metrics, opportunities, competitive dynamics, and ongoing training requirements.

• Develop and implement strategic plans, objectives, and goals, while preparing and presenting formal business and product presentations to payers to enhance device and product access and coverage.

• Collaborate with Liaisons as a primary resource for physician and process opportunities to bolster HCP engagement, process development, education, and coordination regarding transplant center and OPO contracting.

• Work with Payer Account Directors as the main resource for managed markets opportunities and challenges, educating on key managed care concepts and engaging with Market Access senior management to exchange perspectives on payer and transplant management.

• Partner with field HEOR to support the medical presentation of clinical and economic information to payers and transplant administrators as necessary.

• Directly collaborate with transplant administrators to provide expertise on access and reimbursement challenges, delivering education and resources to assist in navigating coverage and payment processes effectively.

• Participate in local, regional, and national meetings to represent LBE and promote lung transplantation, best practices in organ donation, and preservation technologies.

• Work cross-functionally with Liaisons, Clinical Services, HEOR, Patient Advocacy, NADs, Marketing, Legal, and Compliance to implement aligned payer initiatives and ensure coordinated execution.

• Manage relationships with Transplant Administration Organizations.

• Track and report on significant developments and trends across assigned accounts and regions, while developing and sharing presentations with senior management on transplant trends, market dynamics, utilization, and financial metrics.

• Act as a resource for planning, data interpretation, and insights to support relationship management and business decision-making.

• Perform other duties as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.

• 10+ years of relevant experience in organ operations or healthcare services focusing on payer access, reimbursement, and stakeholder engagement with a Bachelor's Degree, or 8+ years of relevant experience in organ operations or healthcare services focusing on payer access, reimbursement, and stakeholder engagement with a Master's Degree.

• 5+ years of related experience in transplant administration, including managed care, marketing, and business case development with a Bachelor's Degree, or 3+ years of related transplant administration experience with a Master's Degree.

• Experience in executive-level business presentations.

• Proven ability to cultivate strong business relationships and effectively communicate clinical/technical information.

• Demonstrated knowledge of transplant reimbursement dynamics, including Medicare cost reporting and payer contracting.

• Expertise in access and reimbursement, including payer policies and processes.

• Ability to gather and interpret data for executive leadership.

• A problem-solving mindset with a focus on delivering practical solutions.

• Understanding of Organ Procurement Organization organ acquisition charges and reimbursement processes.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).

• Capability to interact with other departments and prioritize tasks effectively.

• Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with payer stakeholders to ensure access and reimbursement for current and future LBE services/products.
